THE HUMANNESS PROJECT

I want to learn from the city and people of Chicago, and as I listen closely to the voice of another and photograph the physicality of their humanness I hope to become more aware of the ways we our similar and that our needs aren’t so different — how our humanness unites us.

“The fact that I feel pain, that I feel happiness, joy, the fact that I feel that my body has needs such as I’m thirsty, I’m hungry, I’m sleepy, I’m tired. what makes me human? The fact that I am different from an animal, and that I can think, that I can relate to people and live in a more…structure or healthy environment than an animal, I mean I can chose to fight or not to fight, to kill or not to kill, because I can think — that’s what makes me human.”
